I finally overcome my fear of paper piecing and tried it last night. I used Vanessa's tutorial on Sewing Mamas Forum and here is what I created:
used up some of my increasing pile of scrap fabric, jelly roll strips for binding and I even made a little hanging thing on the back :)

I don't make many Valentines, so I don't own almost any Valentine related stamps, but I found a bunch of pre-colored Lili of the Valley images in my stash, so I used one of them. The paper and hearts are from a really old scrapbooking kit. I just stamped the swirls and the inside.

Good morning and welcome to another Shopping Our Stash Challenge. This week's challenge is super easy - just use people (stamps/digis/pictures) on your creation.
For my card I use a Sarah Kay stamp called Rosalie's bicycle. The image is colored with prisma pencils, cut out and pasted onto the background.The background started out as white CS and was brayered, stamped and sponged with SU inks.

SOS36 - Winter Blues wreath

Good morning and welcome to another Shopping Our Stash Challenge. This week's challenge is called Winter Blues - so just use anything blue.
Here is my blue project - I got a metal wire wreath frame during after Christmas sales and decided to make a wreath to replace the Christmas-y one that was still hanging on our door.
If you think I used up my whole stash of blue ribbon you are mistaken - just about half of it ;) It's all just tied around the wires, lots and lots of it - good project to do while watching TV.
I used all kinds of ribbon, from gross-grain to lace - the wider, softer ribbons work best in my opinion ;)

This week I was inspired by the blues in this picture:

I used a digi from Saturated Canary called Zorana, the dancing gypsy. She's colored with a mix of Copics and Prisma pencils. I went a little crazy with distressing - distressed the blue background panel, borders and I also used TH distress inks.

I revisited Challenge #12 - Dogs, Digis & Denim and also Challenge #3 - UFO - I had this image colored for months and discovered it last week while I was cleaning and organizing my craft room ;)
The image is from Meljen's Designs - not sure what is the name of the image, it's one of the older ones. It's colored with a mix of Prisma pencils and Copics.

I managed to use all 3. ADFD image called Beautiful pixie, feather for soft and Polar White Flower Soft for snow on the ground.
The pixie is paper pieced on the dark background, only her her head and arms are colored ;)The silver stuff around around the edges is Viva pearl pen (I was experimenting a little - didn't turn out exactly as I planned, but I still like it)

I woke up early this morning and made 3 cards for Flourishes new release challenges:

Feminine Flair Challenge -FLLCDEC11
I used a shoe image from my stash (sorry, no idea who made it, but I love it anyway - very feminine and glamorous), colored it with Prismacolor pencils. Added ribbon lace and the fab Prima flower. The card base is sprayed with Heirloom gold mist for added glamour and I used several layers gold tissue paper to die cut the leaves to make them look softer and more feminine.

Night & Day Challenge - FLLCDRW1
this challenge was to create a night or day scene.
I used Alleluia Angel image from Flourishes, colored and embossed it - then sponged the sky behind her. It's Night and the angel is the bringer of the light, sky is lightening around her.

Perfect pear challenge - FLLCDRW2
this challenge was to get inspired by the pear picture & the colors
I used peaches from Cherries & Peaches set, colored them with Prisma pencils. Had to go more "peachy"with the color scheme, to match the juicy peaches, but I used all the colors from the inspiration picture too ;) The flower is made from a wide sheer ribbon.

Welcome to another Shopping Our Stash Challenge. This week you have several options: you can use Kraft CS, make a tag, use Dilly Beans image (they are this week's sponsor) or any combination of the previous options.

For my card - I used Kraft CS for image base and I turned the sentiment into a little tag and hung it on the flower.
The image is called Angels with Crib and it's from LOTV. I stamped it on Kraft CS with brown Memento ink and colored it with Prisma pencils.The blue card base has a nice pearlescent shine and the gold strip behind the image too. Hard to capture it by camera though. The flower is handmade from a wide sheer ribbon.

Welcome to another Shopping Our Stash challenge - this week's theme is Light and/or white or Meljens - use something from your stash that represents light- candle, fireplace, stars, Christmas lights, or decorate a candle, make a lantern, etc, or make a project that is mostly white or use Meljens image - our sponsor for this week.
When I saw the "light" challenge, I immediately thought about stamping on candles. For today I made 2 - the little one with the red snowman was easy peasy, the dark burgundy was harder - probably because it has a little texture. The images didn't want to adhere to the surface, rather they were sticking on the wax paper. Both stamps are from Inkadinkado. They are both stamped with Versamark and heat embossed.
The brads on the tree were just pushed in the wax, I used hot glue on the star and ribbons. I found out that's the only thing that would hold good on candles - even the strongest glue dots don't do the job properly.

I was about to order some new Christmas papers when I found out I still had almost a whole pack of Basic Grey Jovial in my stash, I also had a nice square box from chocolates I just finished and I got an idea:
Covered the box with Jovial papers, decorated the top with die cuts from the pack + Christmas rub-ons + glittery snowflake and tadaaa - I have a perfect gift box for the set of Jovial Christmas cards I made some time ago.

I'm using my brand new Dilly Beans digi - Dilly Beans is our sponsor for this week. The image is called Rosie framed, but the she reminds me of Allison from the current cycle of America's Next Topmodel - she's kind of weird, but still beautiful and she has those huge eyes too.

The image is colored with Prisma pencils and I added some rhinestones in her hair. The shimmery stuff in the background is a wide sheer silvery-gray ribbon. And still inspired by Allison's old fashioned clothes I used some lace and velvet ribbon.

FMQ Friday - pine needles & FMQ place mat

this week's FMQ homework from Fluffy Sheep Quilting was to practice a pattern called Pine Needles, so here they are: while stitching it I discovered the following things:
-traveling the same line is not my best ability :)
-for some reason it was easier to stitch the needles facing up then down - they came out more even and the angles are better too - who knows why.... the ones facing down remind me of a pine forest after a big storm - where the storm broke of half of the branches and the rest is all crooked :)

but that's not the only FMQ thing I did this week - I made a couple of christmas placemats and since I got tired of meandering I decided to do some feathers/leaves. I cheated a little - drew the approx. shape of the leaves on the mat with Frixion pen so I have some pointers where and how far to go.. it's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it anyway :) What do you think?

Good morning and welcome to another Shopping Our Stash Challenge. This week we ask you to use stickers or rub-ons. I don't have many stickers (mostly because I don't like them), but I really like these - they are 3D and have bits of coppery embossing on them. Wonder why I didn't use them before.
The embossed background is a thin metal sheet, I like how it looks, it wasn't easy to photograph though because of all the shine. CS is from SU, Strip of patterned paper from Basic Grey and the sentiment from my stash.

FMQ Friday - stomach lining & Greek Cross Boy Quilt

yes, stomach lining - that's the name of the FMQ pattern we practiced this week over at Fluffy Sheep Quilting - not very appetizing I know. And I have to tell you I didn't like it too much - I can meander, but when I had to meander in the circular pattern and make the loops small I had a hard time. So my stomach lining looks like it has ulcers in it ;)

And I FINALLY finished my quilt for Across the Sea Modern Quilt Along - I know I'm a month late, but better late than never. The thing is that I planned it to be a little boy quilt, but when I finished the top it didn't feel like a kiddy quilt. SO I put it aside. Then I got a suggestion to add some applique and that's what I did. I think the sea creatures look good with the color scheme and I'm pretty happy with it. It still needs to be washed, so here is just a quick peek:

When I first see the western/cowboy theme I got a little scared as I have no western stamps - but then I thought - horses are related - and I had an idea right away ;)
So here are my cards - yes, I made 2 - I started with 2 images - didn't know which will turn out better, but I like them both, so here they are - my DD calls them Day & Night.
The stamp is from Inkadinkado - it's colored with copics and heat embossed. Then I got my brayer and my fingers all inky and created the background.

FMQ Friday - bright star

here is my FMQ Friday progress report. This week we were practicing bright star. Here is mine:
Not too bad, so I decided to incorporate them into a table runner I was working on - I didn't feel like doing the whole star, so I just did half - the runner is not ready yet, so I'll post a picture of one block.
I found that it's much harder to do the pattern on an actual project than on a practice square - my main problem with this patter was to get all the lines meet in the middle - so for now I'm happy when they meet somewhere in the middle-ish area ;)

Welcome to another Shopping Our Stash Challenge -this week is super easy and really exciting - easy, because the challenge is to make a Halloween or fall card. Exciting , because it's sponsored by our first regular sponsor - Bugaboo Stamps.
I don't really use Halloween cards, so I decided to go with the fall theme - the last week was really dark, rainy and dreary here, so I had to use some light, blue skies and sunshine in my card. I revisited Michelle Zindorfs' older tutorials and when I seen this one, I just had to make it.

FMQ Friday - slate tiles and pincushions

It's weekend again and that means showing of my FMQ slate tiles ;) Not much to show - tiles where not as much of a problem (even though they are a little uneven - Leah said it's ok ) as keeping the rows straight.
Then I went to practise the wavy lines from week one - you can clearly see which side was the beginning. Then I was in the mood for more FMQ so I tried to fill up the empty spaces between the lines ;)

Now to show you something that actually went good and turned out as I imagined - I made a couple of simple pincushions - they were really easy to make and turned out nice fluffy and soft :) Kind of a weird light - it's been so dark and dreary the whole week, no sun at all, so I didn't have much natural light for picture taking.

Are you ready to dig in your stash again? Then get ready for another Shopping Our Stash challenge. This week we have a fun inspirational picture - cookies for the Day of Dead:
I can't wait to see what will you create..
And here is my card - with all the colors and flowers the cookies look quite girly to me so I wanted to make a girly card, but still use skulls...I found exactly ONE skull stamp in my whole stash, so no problems deciding which one to use - heeeheee. I stamped the skulls randomly over a quarter sheet of white CS, embossed them with white EP and then sponged TH Distress inks over the whole CS. Then I stamped blue swirls on one side and pink hearts on the other. Then just some lace, ribbon and a flower and a card is done. Leaves were originally green-brown, they are colored with black Sharpie. The sentiment is a digi from Sgt. Stamper and if you know where to find these, please let me know - I can't find my file, so I had to use the one I have printed on Kraft CS (insert roll eye smilie)

Fall tablerunner & FMQ practise

Here is a table runner I made last week - the pattern it's from Fons&Porter's Love of Quilting magazine. It was my first time doing applique and I had lot of fun with it :) I would probably make different fabric choices if I had a fabric store's selection at home, but I wasn't patient enough to wait for an online fabric order to arrive.

Today, while blog hopping I found this great blog called Fluffy Sheep Quilting where Cindy is doing this fun thing called FMQ quilt-along. Every week there is a new FMQ pattern to practise and then you can link up your results on Cindy's blog next Friday. My FMQ skills consist mostly of sub-standard meandering, so I really need more practice. This is a perfect opportunity to do so and I'm joining the quilt-along. Ta-daaa! I'm joining late, so I skipped the first pattern (the wavy lines look scary) and practiced the drops and slate tile today - here is what I created:

Well- it's really windy today, so some of the drops are being blown away, but I guess it's not too bad for the first try... will work on it ;)

Halloween is around the door, so at Shopping Our Stash we would like you to make a Spooky card or use Black/Orange on your project.
I decided to use my Penny Black Halloween stamp - it's stamped on watercolor paper and colored with water based markers. The spiderweb was just drawn free-hand. The paper is from K&Co - love the glitter. Then I just added some stitching and fabric bats from my stash.

Good Morning! Since it's almost Thanksgiving time here in Canada we at Shopping Our Stash would like you to make a Thanksgiving or Thank You card.
For my card I used a card kit I got from a Magnolia swap last year - papers are Thanksgiving themed, but I didn't have a Thanksgiving sentiment so I turned it into a Thank You card.
Image colored with Copics, all the stuff used is from the kit. I sponged the edges of the image with Antique Linen distress ink and than stamped the swirls over it.

Here is my card - the background panel started out as white die cut. I applied inks straight from the ink pads on it (SU River Rock, Soft Sky) - then I blended it all together with TH distress inks (antique linen) and stamped the flourishes with Mellow Moss ink. The lace and embossed background are distressed with Walnut Stain ink.Sentiment is from SU and the flower and leaves are Recollection.

SOS17 - Shabby Chic Kinkade Lighthouse

It's Tuesday and that means a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash - this week we want you to create something shabby chic or vintage.
I don't venture in those areas of crafting too often, but here is what I made.
Stamp is Light of Peace from Kinkade (CHF) and I colored it with Prismacolor pencils. Then I went crazy with glimmer mist and glitter. The background paper is glimmer misted and so are all the flowers, leaves and the lace ;) The edges are distressed and then glittered. Glitter is white gold from Martha Stewart.
It's all very shiny and glimmery - hard to capture it by camera

I was asked to make some anniversary cards and since I don't have many suitable stamps I used the same one, just changed the color schemes . The stamp is from a retired SU set called Summer by the Sea. All the images are stamped on watercolor paper and colored with SU or TH distress inks.
My favorites are the first and the last one - which one do YOU like?
This week I joined my first quilt along - it's called Across the sea quilt along and you can find the details here. I'm only making a baby quilt - fabrics are waterways batiks from Connecting Threads - I managed to make all the blocks and now I have to find a pleasing layout - here is what I have - any ideas?

I'm not very good at sassy or snarky so I stayed with funny - I think most House Mouse stamps are funny by themselves, but I had this sentiment and thought it would work with the image ;)

This is my last card for Paper Sundaes DT as I'm retiring from my post. I was with Paper Sundaes Challenge blog since their beginning and I have to tell you it's been a lot of fun. :)
But couple months ago I got back to sewing and started quilting and there is not enough free time in the day to do everything ... So I just want to send a big Thank You with a big hug to Shana and Christine for starting Paper Sundaes Challenges and for keeping me on the DT for so long ;)

Now back to my card - I used Tilda with pencils and School Desk images from School & Travel Collection. They are colored with Copics with little glitter pen details here and there. Then I just created a simple background from black CS for blackboard and added some flowers on the bottom.

For my card I used red and ribbon - it's more plain than I usually create, but the papers looked so good with the luscious velvet ribbon that I didn't feel like covering them up ;) So I just added a poinsettia, sentiment and couple of jewels.

SOS13 - Weakest link - Flowers

Do you have the best intentions of not buying anything new but seem to always "fall" for a certain company release or item? Then we a perfect challenge for you. Today's Shopping Our Stash is called Weakest link and we want you to use the thing/s you can't live without ;)

My weakest point is flowers - Wild Orchid, Prima, any kind - I buy WAAAAYYY to many of them (especially when I see some on sale) and then of course have no time to use them all. Today I made 2 projects with them and didn't even make a dent in my flower stash ;)

Both boxes started as plain untreated wooden ones from dollar store - the first one was sprayed with several layers of Glimmer Mist, the pink one was painted with acrylic paint. I used hot glue to attach the flowers and leaves - the big white and gold flowers are Recollection (from Michaels), other flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Leaves are Recollection too.
On the side of the pink box I stenciled some flowers with Memento ink - first time I used stencil and it turned out quite ok ;)

This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is called Dogs, Digi & Denim - you can use all or any of these.
For my card I used a digi (Tickled Pink - Lil Pinkettes August) and a sparkly denim fabric. I used real fabric and fused it to the card stock with Heat Bond. Sorry, no dogs - I looked through all my stamps, digis and swapped images and I have tons of cats, horses, hedgehogs - but no dogs...
The image is colored with Copics - my DD loves it, so it's probably going to be her B-day card (she's turning 9 in 2 weeks ;) and bugging me about skin tight jeans - insert "roll-eyes" smiley)

Hi ladies, ready for another Shopping Our Stash Challenge - this week it's called Violins, Violet and Vellum. You can use all 3, or just pick one or 2 items.
Here is my card - I used vellum for the glass, violet/purple inks for sponging it and a violet straw. I didn't have a cocktail umbrella so I had to make my own ;) The background was sponged and brayered with SU inks and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. I used a tutorial for Cup Card from Splitcoast Stampers.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!
Today's Paper Sundaes challenge is to create clouds/sky - a wonderful challenge for summer.
For my card I used a Spesch digi I won couple weeks ago - it's called Meadow Girl and it felt like a perfect setting for clouds ;)
The image is colored with Copics and I created the clouds by sponging Tumbled Glass Distress ink around my hand cut cloud template.
I have a weird light here today - the scalloped border is actually bright red. Patterned paper is from DCWV, CS is from Stampin Up, sentiment is a freebie from TLC and I added some flowers and leaves for the right meadow feel!

This week we have another fun challenge at Shopping Our Stash - it's called Buttons, Blooms & Bananas. You don't have to use all of them, just pick whichever you want.
I managed to use buttons and blooms (colored them both with Copics to match my image). Maybe you could call the background Banana colored - if you stretch your imagination ;)The stamps are from Flourishes set called Mix-n-Mugs. I used Copics to color the image. Papers are MME Hattie collection. Love these papers, you can use them for both feminine and masculine cards.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! This week's Paper Sundaes challenge is called Just Beachy/ Summertime - perfect for this time of the year!
For my card I used my brand new stamp I won in House Mouse challenge.
It's called Beach Cooler - and it's exactly how I felt during this week's heat wave ;) Too bad my bed is not made of ice cubes..
The image is colored mostly with Copics, just used Prisma pencils for the sand. I used several layers of UTEE on ice cubes to make them look shiny - first I wanted to use Crystal Effects, but didn't feel like waiting until it dries, so I tried UTEE - the results look quite similar :)

Here I am with another Doodle Pantry creation - today using set called Fancy Shoe. Love the shoe and the sentiments too - I'll give it to my sister who is moaning about turning 35 ;) Bad me! LOL!

I've been neglecting my Doodle Pantry Guest DT postings, but here I am - better late than never.
It's super hot here - it's not even 8 am here and I'm already sweating like crazy... so I made a nice summery card too!
I used Watermelon lunch digi from Doodle Pantry (don't you feel like eating fruit all the time when it's hot outside?) and colored it with Prismacolor pencils.
All the papers and embellishments are from a card set I bought last year - don't remember the company..

Do you have a technique you always wanted to try, maybe even bought special supplies for it and didn't find the time to try it? Now is the time! Shopping our Stash challenge wants you to do just that.
I used Acetate & Tissue technique on the background panel - you can find the tutorial on SCS. I didn't really have supplies especially for this technique (you just need acetate, crystal clear, tissue and reinkers), but I planned to try it since last Christmas :)
It didn't come out as well as I wanted, but good enough...
The image is from Lili of the Valley - Dropping the Shopping! Colored with Copics - I had to experiment with colors too - didn't have copic matching the background panel, so I mixed 3 different colors ;) Added some Polar White Flower Soft for snow and a bit of white glitter on her hat and sleeves.

Good morning and Happy Sunday!
It's sooo hot in here, no chance of cooling down anytime soon - I wish it was Christmas already, so today's Paper Sundaes challenge worked perfectly for me. Yes, you guessed right - the theme is Christmas in July.
I felt like making something vintage looking ;)so I used my neglected Tim Holtz Mini Holidays stamp set and BG Wassail paper. I stamped on one of the beige papers from the set using brown chalk ink for Santa, Artichoke for branches and sentiment and Sahara Sand for the snowflakes. Brads are from BG Jovial collection.

Good morning!
It's Tuesday and that means another fun challenge at SOS! This week you need to use something you received from a swap, candy or RAK. Easy, right?
Here are my cards - yes cards, once I had the kit out in the open, I just had to make more than one :) I got this card kit in a swap last year - image is Luvvie from Sugar Nellie and everything I used was in the set - even the gorjus corner die cuts and the embossed CS. Oh - the Be Mine sentiment is from a different card kit from a different swap ;)
Images are colored with Copics and I also used my Spellbinders dies and border punch.
Isn't it funny, how you can make very different cards from the same kit?!

Doodle Pantry - WIld Rose

I'm lucky to be one of Doodle Pantry's guest designers for July and here is my first post.
It's a new release day at Doodle Pantry and Laurie came up with another amazing variety of images and sentiments.
I got to play with a digi set called Wild Rose. I combined the rose and hips images into one and also used the sentiment from the same set. The image was colored with Copics and I used my really old retired SU papers.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's the first summer weekend and maaaaaan, it's hot in here (and humid too).
This week's Paper Sundaes challenge is Stitching - faux or real - doesn't matter. And we have a fabulous sponsor too - Lili of the Valley.
For my card I used Thomas with Birthday Cake from LOTV - colored him with Copics (have to work on my fur coloring skills) and I used retired SU papers. I'm planning to give it to my son for his sixth birtday, so I didn't want to make it too girly. After adding stitching I decided it was enough, so I ended up not using any embellishments.

Are your ready for another Shopping Out Stash Challenge? Get your scrap boxes/bins - because our new challenge is called Scrap Attack (I think the title says it all)!
I had this idea of creating a rainbow from strips of paper, but I had too many strips for one card, so I decided to make a set of note cards. I cut approx 1/2 inch strips from various scraps and adhered them into a 1/4 page of white cs (perfect use for CS with those badly stamped images). When I had it full, I used Ornamental die from TH.
I made 2, but I barely made a dent in my scrap box . It was also fun, so I'll probably make some more in different colors. I kept them simple to make the background stand out. Images are from Doodle pantry digi set call Pasque flower.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! This week we have a Sundae Bar Challenge over at Paper Sundaes - you can pick 2 or more of the following ingredients: Purple, Gems, Paper Piercing, Wings. I used Belles 'n Whistles Dragonfly Flight (you can buy it at Stamp & Create - our sponsor for this week) and managed to use all 4 ingredients.
It was really dark and cloudy today, I had hard time getting the colors right when taking the picture :(
The image is colored with mix of Copics and Prismacolor Pencils - I couldn't find the right color papers, so I got a scrap of this luxury white DP from SU and sponged it with shades of purple and green.

Are you ready for another Shopping Our Stash Challenge? It's called Tools of the Trade. Yes, go dig up those neglected tools you just had to have and use them!
Here is my project:. My MS Scoreboard felt quite neglected, the poor thing was used only for scoring card bases so I decided to put it in good use and make some boxes.

When I'm making some boxes or drawers, they are usually girly. My son Daniel always wants me to make something for him, so since it's going to be his birthday soon I made these drawers for him, using SCS tutorial called Santa's Drawers.
I also used my neglected Crop-a-dile to make holes and set the eyelets on the drawers. No wonder I'm not using it, I have almost no eyelets left - so I had to use some random leftovers ;)

The shelf part could be more straight, but I think my son won't mind and will use them for his treasures anyway...
Papers are from We R Memory Keepers - White Out collection and the base is SU card stock. The die in the back (TH Ornamental) is another thing I had to have and used it maybe 3 times :)

My DD's friend is having a swimming birthday party, so I thought a mermaid card would work for it. I used Mermaid Anya from TGF - you can find her at Simon Says Stamp - our sponsor for this week.

She's colored with a mix of Copics and Prismacolor Pencils and her tail is covered with Stickles. The shells are real - from our vacation on Mayan Riviera - graciously donated from my DD's shell collection. I used superglue to attach them and it holds well :)

House Mouse - Raspberry picking

Who wants to go raspberry picking? Meeeee! Well, it's too early here in Canada, but you can cheer up looking at these cutie little mice enjoying them.
The image is from HM 3D decoupage sheet, cut out, layered and put together with foam tape. Red background is made using melted crayons technique and CS is from Corredination.

This is one of my finished UFO's - had the image layered for weeks and the background was in my "fancy bakgrounds" pile for forever, and now it finally transformed into a card. If you have any UFOs, there is still time to finish them and enter them into SOS Challenge.

Good morning and Happy Sunday! We have another very easy Paper Sundaes challenge today - it's called Girlie Girl!
For my card I used Dance the Night Away from MFT, our sponsor for this week. I paper pieced her dress then added extra depth with Prismacolor pencils. All other coloring is done with Copics. The papers are from Basic Grey Kioshi collection, flowers are Wild Orchid. Pearls are done with Viva Pearl pen and I also added some little butterflies for extra girlie-ness.

Flourishes June New Release Challenges

Flourishes are having another fabulous release and with it a couple of challenges I couldn't resist.
First one is a sketch challenge - nice and easy - I used the lighthouse image from Flourishes Guiding Light set, but since it's more a landscape image I flipped the sketch. Image was watercolored with SU inks and the background panel was made using Melted Crayon technique.

The second challenge is called Pretty in Pink and as you probably guessed, participants need to use shades of pink. I didn't feel like coloring this morning, so I thought paper piecing would work instead. I found this cute little paper pack from K&Co, where all papers are pink so I thought it would work for this challenge. Can't get any more pinker ;)
Both image and sentiment stamps are from Flourishes set Coffee with Friends. It was one of the first Flourishes sets I had and I should really use it more often. I kept the layout simple, just added rhinestone flourishes for extra girly-ness. What do you think?

SOS3 - UFO - Puddle Fun

Hey ladies! It's time for another SOS challenge - this week's challenge is mysteriously called UFO -no, no green people or flying saucers, it stands for Un Finished Objects. So it's time to tackled all those colored pictures, artsy backgrounds, die cuts, half finished projects and finish them.
Now about my card - I had this Happy Hoppers Puddle Fun picture colored for couple weeks now - from when I was trying my monochromatic coloring skills. The white background with the glittery medallion was planned for a wedding card that didn't happen and I also found the punched border in my drawer - no idea where did I get it or what was it intended for. Sentiment is from a swap ;) I found a lot of interesting things,while going through my drawers of colored images, backgrounds and die cuts. You'll be probably seeing more cards coming out from these stored treasures. So maybe I'll turn from queen of UFO's to a queen of FFO's ( = Finally Finished Objects) ;) Sounds like a plan?!

PSC72 Sentimental Melinda

Good Morning and Happy Sunday. This week's Paper Sundaes Challenge is super easy - you just need to use a sentiment. And since we have a fabulous sponsor for this week - Whiff of Joy - I used their stamp called Melinda with Bouquet for my card.
I was browsing challenge blogs and when I saw the inspiration card on CASE Study challenge blog I was immediately inspired. I used the same technique, layout and similar color scheme, but used different stamps and added twine. The butterflies from the sentiment were transformed into stamped ones.
Melinda was colored with Copics - I used my new Xpress It paper and I have to say, blending was much easier on it!
For the background I used several SU sets - flowery swirls are from Elements of Style, Butterflies from Botanicals and the splotches from Branch Out. Inks are all SU too.
Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps - yes, I do have a ticket die, just couldn't find it so I had to just cut it out freehand ;) - Note to myself: organize dies

Good Morning, hoping your week started out nicely and you'll have a fabulous day today! It's supposed to be over 30 C, close to 40 C with humidex. (What a joy when you have no AC ;) )
Now to my card. For the second Shopping Our Stash Challenge we want you to dig in into your oldies - find the oldes stamp set - yes, the one you probably forgot about and use it.
For my card I used Touch of Nature from Stampin Up! It was released somewhere around 2005 and it was the first set I fell in love with. I used it at my SU demo and just had to have it. I really should use it more often..
I stamped the bird, colored it, embossed it with clear EP and then stamped the fern and sponged the background. All done with SU inks. CS, brads and DP are from Stampin Up too!
I used the sketch from the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge.

Feel like having a cupcake? I have 2 to show you, sadly they are not edible - the real carrot ones were gobbled down last night ;)
It's the last day of Ribbon Rewind challenge over at Shopping Our Stash so my cupcakes are ribbon covered. They are actually paper mache boxes, painted with acrylic paint and then "iced"with ribbon. For the first one I used sheer turquoise ribbon, ruffled it and attached the ruffles with hot glue. Sheer ribbon is probably not the best choice, as you need to really use a LOT of it and then you end up with a puff ball like this one ;)
So on the second one I twisted the ribbon like when you make the ribbon roses and attached them with the hot glue too. I kind of like this one better, it's more sleek and elegant ;)

PSC71 - Almost Monochromatic Lil Vintage Lolita Evie

Godd Morning and Happy Sunday! Today's challenge on Paper Sundaes is Vintage/Shabby Chic and it's sponsored by Tickled Pink. For my card I used Lil Victorian Lolita Evie from their Victorian/Steampunk collection - which is perfect for our challenge.
Vintage is not the style I usually do, so I colored several images in different colors and was not happy with the result and then I decided to try monochromatic (almost) and came up with this - this is actually the first time I colored monochromatic with Copics:
She's colored with Copics C1-C7 and to tone down her E00 skin I went over it with C1. All the edges are distressed with gray ink (hard to see). Another hard to see thing is the velvet ribbon I weaved through the lace. Pearls are made with my Viva Pearl pen.

We are using lots of ribbon on SOS Challenge blog this week, so I'm inspired to include ribbon on every one of my projects ;) On this one I used an old retired SU tafetta ribbon - I think it's either Soft Sky or Bashful Blue - not sure. It's not use in any special way, but I'm USING MY STASH! The image is a digi from Tickled Pink and it's called Lil Victorian Steampunk Lolita Evie (phew, what a mouthful for a cute little lady) - LOL! She's colored with a mix of Copics and Prismacolor pencils and the die cuts are from my brand new Spellbinders Leaves set. I cut them out from paint chips - the paper is wonderful, only problem is it's hard to distress with inks, since it's so smooth ;) Then I added some texture with embossing and silver pearls (these are made with my new Viva Pearl pen). All the card stock is from SU!

SOS1 - Ribon Rose Wreath

Good morning and welcome to the first Shopping Our Stash challenge. The first challenge is called Ribbon Rewind and you need to use your oldest ribbon or the color you have most of. If you would like some ideas or inspiration, you can visit SOS resources page where you'll find tons of links to beautiful ribbon creations and tutorials.
When I opened my ribbon drawer I realized I have loads of pink and green ribbon so I decided to use those and here is what I created:
I made lot's of twisted ribbon roses and secured them to a small foam wreath with hot glue. As you can see, I tried our different size and kind of ribbon, some were easier to work with than other. The empty spaces are filled up with Wild Orchid blossoms and added a little white butterfly.
It's already in use, hanging on our naturally rustic door (naturally rustic = old and flaky) ;)

Good morning and Happy Sunday! This week's Paper Sundaes challenge is called "Pop it up".
I decided to use my House Mouse 3D decoupage sheet - love the cute little mousies and I don't use them that much. No coloring, but lots of fussy cutting involved - I usually do it while watch TV or listening to audio book.
The lilac colored paper I used is from Basic Gray Kioshi collection and I added Stickles for extra bling and dimension - you can find both at Michelle's scrapbooking - our sponsor for this week.

Flourishes new release challenges

Here are the cards I made for Flourishes new release challenges - I planned to upload them on Friday, but with Blogger down I only managed to upload them into my SCS gallery.
First one is a delicious looking cake/card I made for the 3 in a row challenge - I used the bottom row - die cuts, lace & pearls. I really like how it turned out - perfect card for special B-day or even as a wedding card!
The whole cake is stamped and embossed (finally used my bright pink EP) The image of 3 tiered cake is quite big, so I used the biggest die from Spellbinders Labels 18 twice and combined them. The pearls in the corners are Prima, but all the other smaller ones are made with Viva Pearl pen - love it ;)

PSC69 - Happy Birtday Cake Card

Good morning and Happy Sunday! It's time to celebrate! One of our DT founding members Christine just celebrated a birthday and we decided Birthday Celebrations would be the theme this week's PS challenge!
What's a birthday celebration without a cake, so when I saw a tutorial for a card with the cake I knew I have to make one! I don't have birthday related stamps, so I used Midsummer Tilda - she looks so happy and carefree, totally enjoying the day - you can find her at Simon Says Stamp - our sponsor for this week! Here is a view with candles placed on the cake - the white "icing" is made with puff marker. The colors are a bit off - it's been really dark and cloudy for the last 2 days and I don't have the best light ;(
She's colored with Copics, used my new ones for the dress, all the papers are from Fairy Flora collection (Prima) and the sentiment is from Flourishes (Let them eat cake).

And another view with the candles stored in the little box. The top part of the card is like an easel card, you can fold it down and tie it up with ribbons. I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Welcome to the Kick-Off Challenge for the new Shopping Our Stash Challenge Blog! We thought the best way to start the ball rolling is to host a virtual 2-week long "open house" where we share a look at our crafty spaces and stashes! It's always fun to see behind the scenes where we spend so much of our time and money!

First I planned to take the pictures when my room is nice and tidy, but miracles are not happening... I realized that waiting to see this room clean is pointless - I'm always in the middle of some project/projects so I took advantage of nice morning sunshine and took my pictures:

here is a look at my whole room - I have 2 tables, but as you can see they are both COVERED with stuff - if you are wondering how can I create like that - well, sometimes I wonder too ;)

my craft table covered in stuff and magazine holders with papers on the left - 12x12 papers are just loose in the shelf, markers in various plastic containers.

here are my drawers with ribbon - the only organized thing in my room - I have 2 12x12 drawers of it and I actually manage to keep it tidy - yay me!

here is how I store my Nesties - on a magnet strip - need to install more, my collection more than doubled since I installed the strip. So now you seen it all and you can see that I REALLY need to use my stash - how is yours (stash/craft space)?

Good morning and Happy Sunday! And Happy Mother's Day! And Happy B-day to my mom and DH!
Today's Paper Sundaes challenge is called Magical & Mythical Worlds and it's sponsored by Pink Cat Studio who is offering 5 digis to one lucky winner.
I was hopping for some more sunshine after a very rainy April, so I picked Lily Sunshine Fairy digi for my card. SO put on your sunglasses, because here she comes, nice and bright.
She's colored mostly with Copics, orange is done with SU marker. The color combo is from Color Q challenge where they want us to used these colors:
I didn't have patterned paper with these colors, so I used plain CS and stamped it tone in tone with bakground stamps. The blue is actually light turquoise, it just looks kind of weird on the photo { sigh }

Inspired card for my mom

When I saw the inspiration picture on Shabby Tea Room Blog I new I had to make a card - and I finally had time to make one today. I wanted to make an interesting, but flat card (for easy mailing overseas) for my mom - it's going to do a double duty as her Birthday is only a day from Mother's Day. :)
I used the butterfly stamp from Inkadinkado set called Mindscapes - stamped it on glossy CS with Versamark, embossed it and then sponged a rainbow of colors over it. Then I stamped another butterfly, sponged it the same way, cut it out and layered it over the first image, only sticking down the body. I also applied some Mill Hill beads on the body for extra interest. What do you think?

PSC67 - Favorite Hair Color - SP Dark Royalty

Good Morning and Happy Sunday -May Day! Finally looks like spring out there.
Today's Paper Sundaes challenge is to color hair with your favorite hair color and of course tell us what colors did you use.
When I was thinking about my favorite hair color I realized I don't have any, but I do like to color hair with non-traditional colors, so that's what I decided to do. And what's better for non-traditional hair color than Sweet Pea fairies and mermaids? Nothing!
I used Dark Royalty and Copics for coloring - for the hair I used G00, BG11, BG13 and BG15.
While I was looking for the perfect papers I came across my fabric stash and though - why not? The teal background is fabric, adhered to CS with Heat Bond. Then just a bit of linnen lace, velvet ribbon and a cute little butterfly and my card is done.
Little word of advise - if you are playing with fabric or other non-paper material - remember to adhere them well -paper adhesive doesn't work so well - I used sticky tape on almost all layers today.

I made this card for Make it Colorful challenge, where the theme is to color black hair. Well I have to admit that black hair is one of my least favorite things to color, but I gave it a try.
I used Sweet Pea stamp called Midnight Waiting and colored the image with Prismacolor pencils. For the hair, I went over the whole hair with light gray and then just added black and more black to create shadows.
I used Gloria's fabulous sketch from Christian Paper Craft blog - I don't have a large scallop die/punch, so I cut out several small circles from pink CS, cut them in half and adhered them on the light blue panel. I'm also entering it into In a Sweet Pea Dream Challenge where Anything goes.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! And also Happy Easter for all who celebrate it!
Today at Paper Sundaes we have a Sundae Bar with 4 toppings - die cuts, glitter, pearls and the color yellow. If you want to play you need to pick at least 2 toppings.
For my card I used stamp called Beary Big Hugs from Belles 'n Whistles. You can buy it and many other Belles stamps at Stamp and Create - our sponsor for this week.
The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and I used Nestabilities Label and lacey circles. I just had to use my brand new Hattie papers (MME) so I picked my color combo from them. The ribbon is SU crushed curry and the glittery butterfly is from Michaels.

Easter card for Flourishes Speed Challenge

Here I am with another Easter card. I used a sketch from Flourishes Speed Challenge - now I do have some Flourishes stamps, but not Easter related and I really have to make some Easter cards fast, so I decided to use an image I got from a swap last year - no clue what's the stamp's name...
I colored the image mostly with Prismacolor pencils, just played a bit with the sky as I want to enter this card into Make it Colorful challenge. I colored the whole sky with Cool Shadow and Frost Blue Copics, blended them a bit with colorless blender and then added darker shades of blue with Prismacolor pencils. The sparkles on the butterfly, bird and flowers are Stickles. Papers are from SU and cardstock is Corredination and Bazzill. The die cut behind the image is from Heartfelt Creations.

House Mouse - Flew Season in 3D

Here am I again with another card - this one with no stamping. I was browsing House Mouse website the other day and found these 3D decoupage sheets - of course I had to buy some. If you enjoy cutting out images you would love them too.
This one is called Flew season and it's perfect for Get Well cards. The background paper is from Dovecraft and CS is Bazzill.

Flourishes - Spring has Sprung

Just a quick Easter card today. I finally made some Easter cards yesterday - I still need to mail them overseas ;)
I made this one for Flourishes Spring has Sprung challenge - using Signs of Spring set also from Flourishes. I kept it simple for easy mailing. I stamped the daffodils and chicks with Memento and colored them with Copics. The sky was sponged with Tumbled glass TH ink after using oval Nestabilities to cut out the image.
I also stamped the little chicks on the yellow panel with Apricot Appeal ink (hard to see in the picture). The patterned paper is from Basic Gray and I used the sketch from current Inkspiration challenge.

Good morning and Happy Sunday! If you want to play with Paper Sundaes this week, you have to revisit your childhood memories and get inspired by them.
Our sponsor is Mo's Digital Pencil, so if you need inspiration go visit her site like I did. I was browsing Mo's digital images and when I found Secret Garden it instantly reminded me of a rope swing I used to have on a branch of an old walnut tree.
The image was printed on watercolor paper and after heat setting colored with water based markers, inks and aqua painter. The background panel was embossed and since it wasn't exactly the color I was looking for a painted it with the same purple I used for the girl's dress. The cardstock is from Bazzill and DoubleMates, flowers are Prima and Wild orchid.

This card is for Make it Colorful Challenge where this week's theme is to color with bright colors.When I saw the theme I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to use my new Paisley Road papers from Prima. I used Flying Fairy Tilda with Magnolia and colored her dress in bright yellow/greens to compliment the papers. The layout is really simple, just added a metallic butterfly from Making Memories and some Prima rhinestones.

Here is a card I made using sketch from House Mouse & friends challenge. The color scheme was inspired by The Shabby Tea Room challenge - the inspiration was a picture of bedroom in soft green, pink, blue and yellow.
The stamp I used is called Feeder Friends and I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, then added some Crystal Effects on the feeder's see through part. The papers are Graphic 45 - Once Upon a Springtime. All the edges are inked with TH Distress ink and I also added some stitching. Sentiment is from SU and the leaves and bling are Prima.

It's going to be our 10th wedding anniversary in couple weeks so I decided to make a spring wedding card. For my card I used Olivia with her kittens Kiki and Sugar stamp from Stampavie. She's stamped on watercolor paper, embossed with clear EP and colored with SU and TH distress inks.
The background panels was created with Delft tile technique - stamp is from Cornish Heritage farm, and it's all embossed with clear EP. It didn't come out as well as I planned, but makes an interesting background anyway ;) What do you think?

This week's Make it Colorful challenge is for kids and it's very simple - just use pink for coloring.
I was super busy this week, but my 8-yo DD Sofia is on March break so she was very eager to make a card.
I let her use anything from my craft room (except the Copics) and here is what she created all by herself:

She used Purple Woods from Sweet Pea Stamps, colored the image with pencils and kept the layout pretty simple. I'm also entering her card into In a Sweet Pea Dream challenge where they also ask for pink.

Good morning and Happy Sunday!
This week's Paper Sundaes challenge is to use Stripes. I made this little box that looks like a book - I think it's called a Drop Spine Box, but I'm not sure. I find a tutorial in Swedish here, didn't understand a word (Google translator didn't work properly) - but I tried it anyway. It's much simpler than the ones I found, needs a bit of tweaking and a better glue, but here it is...

I used a Tiddly Inks digi called Carry Me to the Moon, paper pieced the buggy with stripy paper and used Copics for coloring.

here is a close-up - all the papers are from Martha Stewart and the flowers are a mix of Wild Orchid, Recollection and Primas.

My Doodle Pantry DT term is ending, so this is my last Doodle Pantry card as a DT member - but not my last Doodle Pantry card - that's for sure - love Laurie's images and it was fun and honor to work with her and other talented and creative ladies on her DT. I used an image from a set called Grassy Hills - it's very calm and peaceful - suitable for a wide variety of occasions. The image is printed on watercolor paper and colored with Tim Holtz distress inks. I kept the card very simple to make the image stand out.

Good morning and happy Family Day for all Canadians.
It's snowing again and I really wish the weather started looking like spring. So I made at least a spring card ;) I combined 2 doodle pantry digis - pond from Cattail Pond and cat from Kitty Bouquet. Printed the images on watercolor paper and after heat setting colored them with water based inks. The sketch is from The Sweet Stop, where they also want us to Think Spring ;)

This is a card I made for Make it Colorful Challenge - I have to brag a bit - I made it to Top 3 with my last week's card ;)
This week challenge was to add depth/shadows to our images - they have a wonderful tutorial about adding depth with grey marker. My Copic collection is quite limited so this was perfect for me - I was a bit scared to go over other colors with gray (especially with the darker ones) - but here is what I created. I have only 3 gray and 3 brown markers, so I played with them to created bunnies with different shades of fur ;)
The paper colors look a bit weird - probably bad light, just couldn't make it look more realistic - I apologize...
Papers are from DCWV Spring Glitter pack, CS is Bazzill. I made the flowers free hand from the same papers and the leaves are punched from the same pack too.

Today I decided to use another of my LOTV cute squares - this image is called Together Forever - aren't the little guys cute together? My 5yo son is "in love" with his class mate and they plan to marry (when they grow up - not now) - this image reminded me of them - lol!

I used Basic Grey - Wisteria papers and SU cardstock. The ticket sentiment is a freebie from Sgt. Stamper. Flowers are mostly Wild Orchid, one is from Prima (I think)

Are you ready for another Paper Sundaes challenge? Today we have a Sundae Bar that contains pink, flowers, lace and distressing. You can pick two or more ingredients from it for your project.
Foe my card I used Lil Birthday Kellita digi from Tickled Pink - our sponsor for this week.
She's printed on watercolor paper and colored with TH distress inks. The lace-y papers are from Basic Grey Curio collection and the CS is from SU. The edges of the image, background paper and the wider lace are distressed with TH distress inks. The biggest flower is from Recollection, 2 smaller ones from Wild Orchid Craft. I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday challenge. I'm also entering it into Tickled Pink Challenge - Birthday Wishes.

Flourishes - Winter Thaw Challenge

I made this card for Flourishes Winter Thaw Inspiration Challenge - with wonderful picture of crocuses peeking out from under the snow. I was inspired by the colors, just used them in a different way - yellow for the daffodil Signs of Spring set) and purple for the background.
The image was colored with Copics and the background with Prismacolor pencils. The papers are from Martha Stewart and CS is Bazzill Smoothie.
I used the sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp Challenge and I'm also entering it into PaperWorks Co Recipe Challenge (use stitching, 2 papers and ribbon/lace)
