It was my first time doing applique and I had lot of fun with it :) I would probably make different fabric choices if I had a fabric store's selection at home, but I wasn't patient enough to wait for an online fabric order to arrive.Today, while blog hopping I found this great blog called Fluffy Sheep Quilting where Cindy is doing this fun thing called FMQ quilt-along. Every week there is a new FMQ pattern to practise and then you can link up your results on Cindy's blog next Friday. My FMQ skills consist mostly of sub-standard meandering, so I really need more practice. This is a perfect opportunity to do so and I'm joining the quilt-along. Ta-daaa! I'm joining late, so I skipped the first pattern (the wavy lines look scary) and practiced the drops and slate tile today - here is what I created:
Well- it's really windy today, so some of the drops are being blown away, but I guess it's not too bad for the first try... will work on it ;)

Looks super to me, but then coming from my perspective, It has to be good!

Good job! I had a little trouble with the first one, Shadow Wave. I did better on a second try at it. The Drop Art was easier, I like stitching curves.
