For my part I decided to alter a plain wooden box. I mixed PearlEx powders with ModPodge and painted the whole outside. The mixture is nice and thick and gives good coverage, so one layer was enough. To decorate the top some more I added some gold micro beads while the ModPodge was still wet.
The russet flower was also painted with PearlEx/Mod Podge mix.
I'm also entering it into the following challenges:

I would have never thought to add PearlEx to modge podge, but I love this! That's a great idea and I will be stealing it too! Love the beads too.
