here is my 3rd scrapbook page ever and my first try to work with sepia picture. I found a great sketch on Stuck On U Sketches blog with super amazing design team creations and decided to give it a try.
It turned out quite simple, but hopefully you can still see the sketch. All the elements are from a kit (except the blue SU cardstock), just embossed the chipboard swirls.
I love all the artistically layered pages with lots of details, flowers and embellishments, but every time I try to create something like that I seems too much or too busy? Is there a secret to it? Maybe using a simple background? Please share your ideas to a scrapbook newbie :)

haha--leslie calls it "the collage gene" and opines that ppl either have it or not. that miiiight be true. i know that whereas i can layer until actual structural considerations insist that i STOP before my creation cannot be lifted by humans, i actually can't do C&S to save my life.
having said ALL of that, when you can make a page that looks as lovely and perfect as this, why would you worry about doing anything else! gorgeousness!!! ♥♥♥
Well done on your third scrapbook layout, ever. And I'm glad you were able to use our sketch as inspiration. That's a lovely shade of blue with the sepia photo, and I love your shaped background papers. Thanks for joining us at SOUS! Hope to see you for the next sketch... xx

And I think its just lots of practice makes perfect when it comes to layering and embellishing. And just have fun with it, at the end of the day, basically its just paper!
