So Artful Challenge #6 - Rainbow roses

It's time for another So Artful challenge and this time we have a lovely theme - RAINBOWS.
My card started with the picture of rainbow roses I snapped the other day in a grocery store. The colors got my attention - at first I thought they are plastic or silk, but when I came close I realized they were real. Apparently they split the stem and dip each part into a different colored water - as the plant absorbs the waters, the petals get colored too. Cool, eh?
I used plain cardstock in matching colors to let the roses stand out and added some swirls made with my new Memory box die.

Challenges:
4 Crafty chicks - flowers
Inspired by - colors from the picture
Prairie Fairy - anything goes

So Artful Challenge #5 - Here comes spring

It's time for a new So Artful Challenge - this time the theme is Here comes Spring and the colors are green, blue, pink. I was inspired by the lovely inspiration pictures full of flowers and decided to make an eye-glasses holder.
It's made from various ribbons - from velvet, through gross grain to silk - so it has a lovely texture. The ribbons are adhered to a piece of fabric using Heat'n Bond Lite iron-on adhesive. Be careful when ironing different kinds of fabrics - I ironed them through a piece of cotton.. Then I added a layer of bating for protection and lined it with pink batiste. Flower is made from a wide satin ribbon and adhered with hot glue to the case.

So Artful Challenge #4 - Harlequin Wedding

Hello Everyone! Welcome to So Artful Challenge #4. This week Sharon has a very cool challenge for you - the theme is Harlequin and colors are black/white.
I have to admit I was a bit uneasy about the harlequin theme, but then I was inspired by this beautiful piece of furniture with gold details.
And here is my card: I found a wrapping paper with white & gold harlequin(ish) pattern so I used that for the background ;) Stamp and sentiment (on the inside) are from Flourishes. The adhesive lace is actually black, but it's so glittery that it's hard to take a picture of it...

I'm also entering it into Art Impression Stamps Challenge- sparkle, bling or embossing (glittery lace + embossed image)

So Artful Challenge - Gypsy Blues

This is my first card as a DT member for So Artful Inspiration Challenge.
This week I was inspired by the blues in this picture:

I used a digi from Saturated Canary called Zorana, the dancing gypsy. She's colored with a mix of Copics and Prisma pencils. I went a little crazy with distressing - distressed the blue background panel, borders and I also used TH distress inks.
Challenges:
Crafty Catz - use something new (brand new digi)
Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe challenge - blues
Rainbow Lady's Challenge - The Many Faces of Women
