Mimosa and Mimo in Summer

Wohoo! It's July 1st - Happy Canada Day to all Canadians!
Today I have a trully summery card for you - a pop-up card with Mimosa Dock and Mimo Tree stamp on it. The images are colored with Copic markers (mostly), cut out and pasted into the scene.
I tried to create a summery background for them with water, sun, sky - the back panel is sponged and the bottom (water) is brayered. The plants are from Silhouettes set from Inque Boutique and the water ripples are from Waterlily set from Flourishes.
I kept the outside really simple, only glittery papers and some butterflies.

Mimosa on a boat

Good morning mateys! Who would like to go sailing on the high seas?
Mimosa does and here she comes on her boat. Looks like she has a nice weather - sunny skies and blue seas. Not like it was here - cold, windy and rainy.
I used Mimosa Boat and colored her with Prisma pencils and markers. Sea is made with several layers of embossed, sponged blue CS in front of and behind the image. Ok, I have to tell you - this card didn't come out as good as I planned - I wanted the seas to look more real. Let me know how could I make them look better.

Paper Jewels May Challenge - navy, yellow and wine red

If you are looking for Paper Sundaes challenge card, scroll down!

It's a first Sunday in May and that means it's time for another Paper Jewels challenge. This time it's a color challenge - navy, yellow and wine red.For my card I used my Tossa Get Well stamp and colored her with Prismacolor pencils. Then came the most challenging part - finding the right papers - since I didn't find any I had to make my own. I brayered a piece of stripy DP from SU Bride collection with red & pomegranate ink from one side, yellow from the other side. Then just a sheer navy ribbon/bow with yellow button, Get Well sentiment and a card is done.

Mimosa Chicken - gatefold card

I finally inked up my Mimosa Chicken from Paper Jewels store - wonder why I didn't do it much sooner, she's so cute and fun to color.I colored her (as I usually do) with a mix of Copics and Prisma pencils. I couldn't resist using my new My Mind's Eye Home papers - love the colors and the glitter. It's a gatefold card and the big Prima flower on the top right helps it stay closed.
The heart pin qualifies it for the Heart challenge on Totally Gorjuss challenge blog. I used a sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp (the 2 panels inspired me to make the gatefold card). I'm also entering it to Charizma Cardz challenge (Spring has sprung), Totally Papercraft (pink, green) and Secret Crafter Saturday challenge (pink, green & flower)

Good Morning and Happy Monday! How was your weekend?
Easter is just 2 weeks away so I created something with that theme - a little Easter Basket.I used Easter Bunny from Bildmalarna and colored him with a mix of Copic and pencils. The basket is really easy to make - you can find the tutorial on SCS. DP is from Imaginisce and the greeting is Inkadinkado.
Then just fill the basket with Easter goodies and you are ready to go :)

Mimosa reading in poppy field

Good morning! I hope you all had a great and sunny weekend. We had a lot of rain and I really miss sunshine, so I decided to make a card that feels like summer (at least for me).
I used Mimosa book from Bildmalarna, colored her with Prismacolor pencils and placed her in a poppy field. I'm sure she's having fun reading her book. The papers are from Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppies collection (love the bright red and green) and the cardstock is SU Real Red and Black. Sketch is from Friday Sketchers current challenge. I'm also entering it in One Stop Craft Challenge - Spots and Dots.

Mimosa on the fence easel card

Good Morning and happy Monday! It's March 1st and spring is near - doesn't look like it - we have piles of snow here, but I hope it will come soon. So since I'm in a spring mood I would like to show you a spring card I created. It's featuring Mimosa on the fence from Bildmalarna - you can buy her and many others at Paper Jewels.Mimosa is colored with a mix of markers and Prismacolor pencils, actually twice - then I cut her and the flowers out and popped them out on the main image. The DP is from DCWV's spring glitter pack and the cardstock is SU Pumpkin Pie. The I just added a flower, ribbon, couple of brads and a bit of decorative stitching. And here is a close-up: This card also fits a challenge on Crafty Creations (cut it out and pop it up)

Paper Sundaes Challenge #6 - Distressing

This week we have another fun challenge for you on Paper Sundaes - distressing.
The design team is featuring cards with Bildmalarna images - if you like these little cuties, you can buy them from our this week sponsor - Paper Jewels. Jenny (the owner) will provide this week's random winner with two fantastic Bildmalarna stamps, Happy Mimosa and Bear with Tulips. I used Mimosa with Flower, colored her with Prismacolor markers and distressed with Antique linen distress ink. The DPs are from Basic Grey Blush collection - most of BG papers are great for distressing challenge - they come already distressed ;) - I distressed them further with Walnut Stain distress ink. I couldn't find a matching flower so I cut out one from the DP and layered it with distressed - previously white - flower.
The sketch is from a current Charisma Cardz Challenge. I'm also entering my card in Saturday Spotlight challenge - the challenge there is also distressing.

Butterfly goodie basket with Mimosa

I decided it's time to make something else then card - something useful - like a cute little treat basket. So I made one - and not just a plain old one, but a fun butterfly shaped - the template is from Qbee and you can find it on SCS (here). They are pretty easy to make - just print the template, cut it out, score it and tape it together. And of course decorate it - preferably before assembling - LOL!
I printed mine on Real Red CS and stamped it with Bildmalarna Hearts in Fired Brick distress ink. The image is called Mimosa's Cafe and you can find it at Paper Jewels (the heart too). Mimosa is colored with a mix of various markers and her dress is paper pieced from SU DP. The flowers are from Petaloo.
I'm entering my creation in following challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges - the challenge is RED,
KL Stampin'n Scrappin'- red, black and white
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Sweet Treat

Paper Jewels Challenge #1 - Cute and Girly

Have you seen the first challenge on Paper Jewels blog? Jenny made it easy - the theme is Cute and Girly - that's not a problem with these cute and girly stamps. I got my first Bildmalarna stamps and images couple days ago so I could finally play!

Come and play too - the winner will win a free stamp to use as guest designer for the next months challenge. They will also get to display the guest designer logo on their blog.
I picked Mimosa on the fence and colored her with a mix of markers and pencils. I used a sketch from OCC Weekly Sketch and DP from We R Memory Keepers. The ribbon and cardstock are from Stampin Up.
