SOS71 - recycled tean can = bling overload

Good Morning! It's Tuesday and that means another challenge designed to get you to use your stash!  This week we at Shopping Our Stash give you two options: create something with GREEN (any shade of green) as the PRIMARY color.  The other option is to RECYCLE something- you name it!

As you can see I choose the recycling option. My daughter needed a little box to carry her USB key and ear buds to school, so I took and empty Tetley's can and created this:

It's totally her - she LOOVES purple, rhinestones, sparkles and anything shiny. I painted the can with Flamingo pink Pearl Ex and then with purple glittery acrylic paint - I thought I'll get more even coverage with it, but now I kind of like the 2 tone shimmery-ness (if that's even a word) ;)
Then I had to add a lot of rhinestones and of course some stickles on the letter and flowers too..

Love love LOVE this! I have some of these super-handy tins around that I use for other stuff, and decorating them never crossed my mind. Genius for the USB, etc, because it'll keep the dusty bits out too. Love it!

This is great! I love the pink shading coming through the sparkly purple! Such a wonderful repurposing project and I can't help thinking you could have used this as your challenge piece for ABAC as well!!
