This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is UFOs - UnFinished Objects.
I had a bunch of these salted watercolored backgrounds done for ages, just waiting for the right time to be used. Here is how I made them - take a large stamping block and apply 2-3 different shades of ink on it - spray it with water mister and then place your watercolor paper onto it - smoosh it, let it saturate a bit then lift. If you have some dry places on your paper, add a bit more water onto the block and press the paper down again. Play with it until you are happy with the result. Then sprinkle some salt on the still wet paper. If it's too dry and the salt is not melting, spray it with a bit of water from your mister. Let develop and dry.
It's a messy process, but fun, so it's best to create more backgrounds at the same time and then clean up :)
I used Stampin Up and TH Distress inks.
The little fairies are from Penny Black, they were colored with watercolor pencils and hand cut out.
