Photoplay - Sugarplum Christmas cards

I didn't make any cards in a while so I'm easing back with a set made from a card kit called Sugarplum Christmas by Photoplay.

The kit has detailed instructions for how to make 8 cards, but it has much more papers - I can probably make another 8-10 cards with all the leftovers. Here is a look at all the 8 cards:

Aren't they sweet? I love non-traditional colors for Christmas cards so these are perfect. I'll be back to show you more cards I made with papers from this kit.

Aand these are my favorites:

Christmas Rose cards

I made another set of quick Christmas cards where the paper does all the work. I'm trying to use up this retired Stampin up paper pack called Christmas Rose. For sketch I used one of the older sketches by Call Me Crafty Al - I think it was from May 2023. The flowers were fussy cut from the patterned paper and I just added a small gold embossed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

And here is a detailed look at one of the cards

House Mouse Christmas Critters cards

I had a bunch of House Mouse decoupage sheets in my stash so I decided to use some and made a bunch of simple Christmas cards. I let the decoupage do all work and only added sentiments or a few rhinestones on a few of them

not sure if you can see the layers on the main image so here is a detailed side view on one of them

Warm Wishes Christmas cards

I finally started making some Christmas cards - it's snowing outside (first time this year) so it's a perfect time for starting to think about Christmas (I was thinking about Christmas cookies too)

I made a few quick cards using Graphic 45 Warm Wishes papers using sketch challenges

For this one I used sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday

This one used sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

one with sketch from The Paper Players

and one without using any sketch

More Christmas cards with Mintay papers

I'm back with more Christmas cards using Mintay Merry & Bright papers.

The 6x6 pack has several pages of these tiny 1.5" x 2" cut apart images that are too small to use on cards by themselves. Of course you can usually used the other side of the paper, but in this case the other side also had tiny images. So here is how I used them.

First image was inspired by Alicia McNamara and her shabby chic cards. I used ribbon, lace and flowers from my stash. Love how they turned out, but they are quite bulky and not easily mailable.

So I tried something more flat and simple and came up with these:

Simon Say Stamp December kit

I bought this month's kit from Simon Says Stamp because I loved the papers, decoupage sheets and the matching stamps as well. I made a whole bunch of cards, but I was in such hurry to mail out my Christmas cards that I mailed a bunch of them before realizing that I didn't take a picture . I used up all the papers from the kit and all the decoupage sheets and made close to 30 cards. Here are the ones that I have left

these cards are made with decoupage sheets - very simple, just rounded the corners (note to self - it's much easier to round the corners BEFORE all the decoupage layers are assembled) :) and added a sentiment from the set. But they were quick and easy.

Vintage Christmas cards using Simple Stories Joyful Greetings kit

I'm back with more Christmas cards - these ones were made using a card kit from Simple Stories called Joyful Greetings.
These were fun and easy to assemble, but I still managed to mess up one (kit normally makes 8 cards) :)

and here is a closer look to some of my favorites. Love the vintage vibe and collage of different images and elements

22 cards made with Dollarama mini Christmas paper pad

Like I promised in my previous post, here are all the cards I made using a Christmas mini pad from Dollarama. Paper had a nice thickness and I really liked that every other sheet had foiled elements. Have to say it was a bit more challenging than my usual 6x6 paper pad, because it was smaller, single sided and some sheets had dimensional patterns so I had to pay attention to the direction of the print.
I managed to make 22 cards - not bad for a pad that's 4.5" x 6.5" :)

On some of the cards I just let the pretty foiled papers take center stage

on some I used colored images - like these Penny Black ones

or these by PhotoPlay - stamp set is called O Canada Christmas

and on some I used sentiments as focal points

SOS459 - Triple Threat Christmas Cards

This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is called triple threat and it means you need to use 3 of something. Since I was working on using up another pattern paper pad I decided to use 3 different patterned papers on my cards.

Our Dollarama was selling little paper Christmas paper pads that were 6.5" x 4.5" (a bit unusual format) - so I bought some and decided to use them. I will have the rest of cards I made posted in a day or 2. Papers were nice thickness and every other one had glossy, foiled elements.

I paired them up with Stampin Up stamp set called Merriest Moments

Last Christmas Cards of the year - Coming Home

To finish up Christmas cards for this year I have several made with Coming Home collection from Stampin Up.

No stamping at all, just a lot of die cutting - if you are not familiar with this collection - you can use the dies and cut out the houses from matching designer paper. There is also a sheet of paper with all the sentiments in several languages.

Watercolored Holiday Floral Cards

I love the Holiday Floral stamp from Simon Says Stamp - it's perfect for watercoloring - so when I started playing with it I had to make several cards.I used a mix of watercolor paint and diluted ink. All cards were finished of with ink splatter.
First one was embossed  with platinum embossing powder

The blue one was just stamped with Marina Mist ink and not embossed

last one was embossed with sparkly white embossing powder

and here are all 3 together - which one is your favorite? For me it's probably the first one :)

Carta Bella Marry Christmas 6x6 paper pad - 29 cards

I'm in Christmas card making mood and I used another whole 6x6 pad - this time one by Carta Bella, called Merry Christmas. I made 29 cards, using mostly the cut apart sheets and sentiments.

I used a variety of card sketches and from most designs I made 2 cards - sometimes completely the same and sometimes with a little color variations.

These are my favorite cards using the cut apart images

Basic Grey - Eskimo Kisses - 30 Christmas cards from 6x6 paper pad

Phew, finally done! I finished using up another paper pack - this one is called Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey - if I'm not mistaken it was released in 2009, so I was sitting on it for long enough :)
I already posted some of the cards in previous posts, now I'll show you the rest.
I managed to make 30 cards - from the simple ones I made 2 of each. The pad was not full, but I also found 2 partial 12x12 sheets from the same collection so I used those too.

I made several cards with cute critters - stamps are from Stampin' Up - owl and fox are retired and the polar bear is from a current set.
Crimbo Crackers - Anything Christmas Goes

Then I did some coloring - most of these images all from Flourishes, cardinals and teacups are from Power Poppy - all images were colored with alcohol markers

and last but not least - cards featuring sentiments - different brands and scripts, but I like them all

Vintage Christmas

I "found" and old Stampin' Up set in my stash and I don't even remember if I ever used it before. So to rectify that I made 2 Christmas cards.
This set works great for vintage style cards so I paired it up with this old newsprint DP from retired SU pack
The main stamps is stamped in Versafine and embossed, edges are ink with Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake inks

SOS424 Christmas in July x 17

This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is called Christmas / Hanukkah in July - I went on a card making spree and made 17 cards from an older partial pack of Stampin' Up designer paper.
The paper is quite busy, so I kept the cards simple, mostly only using sentiments and die cuts.

Poinsettia Christmas Cards

A while ago I watched Jennifer McGuire's video about using a large stamp to stamp multiple cards at the same time. She calls is 2-for-1 edge stamping trick. I decided to give it a try and use my large Create a Poinsettia stamp from Stampendous.
Images were colored with alcohol markers and the background sponged. Season's Greeting sentiment is also from Stampendous. Kept it pretty simple otherwise.

SOS319 - Trendy Copper Christmas

This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is called On Trend and we want to see all things trendy. I don't really follow trends, but according to my friend Google trends in crafting include metalics, especially copper and that's something I can work with :)
I used a whole bunch of new goodies from our brand new 2017 Holiday Catalogue. Stamp is from Carols of Christmas stamp set, tree dies from Card Front Builder thinlit set and the delicious copper patterned paper is from Year of Cheer Specialty Paper Pack. It's even more festive and shiny IRL.

Christmas Ornament in Black and Kraft

The Embellished Ornaments stamp set was my favorite last year and I'm really happy it stayed in this years catalogue too. It's less than half a year till Christmas so why not start with Christmas cards?
I cased from Amy K - you can find the original here. The white & gold patterned paper is from last year's Holiday Catalogue and the enamel dots started out as plain white ones and I colored them in with black Sharpie.

SOS225 - All Is Calm and Purple

This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is called Go Paperless - so no using patterned paper.
For my card I used a Stampin Up Stamp set called Wonerland - for the background I sponged Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant around the pines. When the inks dried I made splatters using thinned out tombow glue and sprinkled Irridescent Ice EP on  them, then embossed it.
Sentiment is stamped on vellum and the brad is from Antique Brads pack.
