Powder Mountain Tri-Shutter card

This week's Tutorial Time challenge on SpeedyTV is to create a Tri-Shutter card. I just got a package of goodies from One Crazy Stamper and was eager to use them. So here is what I made:

I used my new Bo Bunny papers from Powder Mountain collection and a Christmas Tree die made by Dee's Distinctively Dies (good thing I got this one, looks like it's out of stock at OCS). Love this die - you can make the tree as big as you want to or layer it from different papers. Reindeer and snowflake stamps are from Stampin Up, sentiment on the inside is from MFP mini set called Snow gifts.

I'm also entering it into the following challenges:
One Crazy Stamper - anything goes
Corrosive challenge - fancy fold
Oozak.com challenge - winter vibes

Embosses metalic lighthouse

I made this card for Tutorial Time Challenge on MFP SpeedyTV. TammyLee posted a cool tutorial about embossing on pop cans and I just had to try it.
It was more tricky than I thought it would be, but here is my card
I used a lighthouse image from MFP Welcome Home set. I had some troubles keeping the can straight (I'm not patient enough to leave the can weighed down beneath something heavy) - it helps a bit if you die cut your shape first and then I taped it to my craft mat with removable tape to keep the can straight :)
Then I remembered I had some colored metallic sheets and used the green one for background (embossed and sanded).
And I also opened my new packs of washi tape. I didn't add anything else to keep it masculine and don't distract from the image.

I'm also entering it into the following challenges:
Die Cutting Divas - shimmer, glimmer, gloss
Crafty Sentiments - recycle it (pop can)
Paper Pretties - masculine

Brown roses for you

Today I made a card  inspired by picture on Mark's Finest Papers current challenge -

I used different hues of brown and a flourish too. Stamps are from Mark's Finest Papers set called Roses For You.

The ripped brown layer behind the image are paint chips from Canadian Tire - they have wonderful matching colors and sooo many shades (you'll be seeing more of them). Flower and leaves were colored with Prisma pencils and then cut out.

I'm also entering it into the following challenges:
Friends of SpeedyTV - distressing
Unscripted Sketches - sketch
Alphabet challenge - R for recycling, repurposing - paint chips
Delicious Doodles - monochrome

SOS61 - Christmas in July

It's Tuesday and that means a new Shopping Our Stash challenge. This week we would like you to dig into your stash, find something brand new and use it.
I had this set -  Welcome Home  from Mark's Finest Papers -  for some time and never used it. Now I signed up for Christmas card swap at MFP and since this is my only MFP set that can be used for Christmas, I had to use it :).

I also dipped into my BG Jovial paper stash - used a lot of them for paper piecing - new Christmas papers will be out soon, so I better use these up ;) I ran out of the snowflake paper and since it's really hard to find snowflake paper in Michaels in July for one of the cards I had to use snowflake paper from MME. Embosing folder is from Tim Holtz and the sentiment is from the same set as the main image.

Challenges:
My Craft Spot  - Christmas in July
Aud Sentiments Challenge - use a tag
Perfect Sentiments - Anything goes with sentiment
Clear it Out - Christmas in July - use red (papers, rhinestones) and green (ribbon, rhinestones)

Paper Sundaes Challenge #8 - Color Combo

It's Sunday again and with it a new Paper Sundae challenge, this time it's a colour challenge. We need to use these CTMH colors: Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue, and Hollyhock. There is also a CTMH prize - CTMH stamp set "Be Yourself".
I don't own anything CTMH so I tried to match the colors from what I had at home. The image and sentiment are from a new set (not released yet) from Mark's Finest Papers that I was lucky to win in their blog hop last month.
They are stamped in Versamark and embossed with detailed gold EP. The rose is watercolored with SU markers and aquapainter. The inside of the card is stamped with the small rose stamp from the same set.
