SS432 Kraftin' Kimmie Guitar Dude Birthday Card

It's Saturday and that means a new sketch at Sketch Saturday:
and here is my take on it:
I used an older Kraftin Kimmie Dude stamp, can't find it on their site so it's probably retired. Colored it with markers and used Bo Bunny papers for the background. I replaced the flowers with more masculine stars.
For the stars I covered a piece of white CS with several rows of gold and music washi tape and then die cut them.

Something for the boys

For me it's much harder to make a boy/man card than a girly one. SO I decided to work on it. Especially for bigger boys - my 7-yo DS doesn't want to gift his friends with "baby-ish" cards - so that means no puppies, Edwins, teddy bears or other cute/sweet images... So when I found this cool stamp set from Kraftin Kimmie called - Smells like teen spirit I rejoiced ;)
and here is the first card I made with it:

the background is made by melting piles of colored embossing powder and then pressing a stamp into the soft EP - inspired by this card by Jessica Witty. I still have a serious lack of simple stamps suitable for boyish cards, so I just used the spots. Just a little reminder - if you want to try this technique - DO NOT try to melt the embossing powder by pointing the heat gun on it from the top. Lift your CS and heat it from the bottom ;)
and a detail of the melted EP part:

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

PSC17 - Sketch - Bird Fairy

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate it!
Paper Sundaes have a fun and easy sketch challenge for you this week. And as always, we have a great sponsor this week - Kraftin Kimmie.
For my card I used their Bird Fairy stamp - I just love their fairies. I had to rotate the sketch as the image is fairly big. I used Prisma pencils and Copic markers to color the image and I added purple distress stickles on the wings. The background panel was embossed with Finial Press folder and spritzed with Fall Breeze Glimmer Mist. The purple CS is from Bazzill smoothies. I decorated the inside too, it was quite late and the light in my craft room is not the best, so I didn't realized the punched stripe is a bit different shade of purple until it was too late :( - the sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmie too.
I'm entering this card into Totally Papercraft challenge - stitching and Wee Memories challenge - stitching too

Paper Sundaes First Challenge (PSC1) and blog candy winner!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments you left on my blog hop post. It's very encouraging to hear a positive feedback from fellow crafters.
And now to the blog winner - I wrote all the names on pieces of papers - some 2 or 3 times and let my daughter choose one. So the winner is...moment of suspense...

Please contact me with your address so I can get your prize on the way.

The first challenge on Paper Sundaes Challenge blog is this sketch - I like it a lot - it's simple and sweet :)

...and here is my card. I used my newest stamp - Bird Fairy from Kraftin' Kimmie. You can buy it at Stamp and Create together with lots of other stamps.
She's stamped on watercolor paper and colored with a mix of various water based inks, marker and aquapainter. The papers are from Basic Grey Wisteria collection - I don't remember where I get them, but Stamp and Create also carries a large selection of Basic Greys. The brads and button are Basic Grey as well.
