SOS509 - Emboss Like a Boss

I made this card for our current challenge at Shopping Our Stash. We want to see embossing on participants' creations and I decided to do a bit of both - hot and dry

I used the Prized Peony stamp set from Stampin Up and for embossing I emboss the velum in the background and also heat embossed the sentiment

SOS491 - Flowers, Flowers Everywhere

Our newest challenge at Shopping Our Stash is called Flowers, Flowers Everywhere and since we can't wait for spring and see flowers outside we want to see them on the cards.

For my card I used one of the SU Sale-a-bration freebie stamp sets called Beautifully Happy together with  SU ribbon, paper and butterflies. This is a very quick to do card as the set has stamp that you can use to full in the outlines instead of coloring. Colors I used are Petal pink and Calypso Coral for the flowers and Parakeet Party for the Leaves

Image was colored with alcohol markers and I love how it turned out.

I'm entering it into these challenges:

SOS472 - 6 sided pinwheel card for Father's Day

Our newest challenge at Shopping Our Stash is to make a funny Father's Day card. I decided to try a new type of card called 6 sided pinwheel card - you can find the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. It's a fun fold that looks complicated, but it isn't. It folds flat and fits an A2 envelope.

Papers and stamps are from Stampin Up - He's All That collection. Here are a few views from different angles

SU Potted Geraniums

I just received my Potted Geraniums bundle and I had to start playing with it.

It's a layering stamp set, but it's easy to work with, not fussy at all. SO I just played with different color combinations for leaves, flowers and pot too. Which ones is your favorite? I like the darker leaves on the right (granny apple and old olive) and flowers on the left one (polished pink and melon mambo) Also love the sentiment die - fits the set sentiments perfectly. Stencil is also SU, but probably retired, inked with Crumb Cake ink

Sycamore Street Challenge 4 - Mother's Day gnomes

I'm back with more cards made with Sycamore Street DSP and this time I combined some sketches with an upcoming holiday. I used Jaded Blossom gnome dies - love them, they are a nice size and so easy to assemble. Also love how you can combined the different sets/accessories.

he colors are a bit of in this photo - the orange is more coral IRL and the sparkly blue is lighter - but nevermind - it's quite dark and gloomy today and my camera didn't want to cooperate. For this card I used a sketch from Cheerful Sketches.
I'm also entering it into DL. Art Thankful Thursday  - Mother's Day

Next I have a girl gnomie for you with sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday
As you see I gave her the flower that came in a guy gnome set + added a little flower on her hat.

Sycamore Street Challenge 1 - Butterfly cards

I gave myself a challenge - I found a pack of older SU patterned paper called Sycamore Street that was released in 2013 (yeah, 9 years - can't believe I had it for so long). At some point I cut it up to 4x5.25 inch pieces and put them away. SO I think it's time to finally use them. The patterns of this collection are quite busy and some of the colors are retired so it's going to be a bit challenging. I also don't have any stamps that were meant to coordinate with this paper pack. I will be posting few cards as I will be making them and here are the first 2 cards I made
these are pretty simple - using older punches and dies and of course the patterned paper.

SOS468 Elegant Sketch

This week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash is a sketch. Here it is:

and here is my card:
It's very shiny, so it was hard to take a good picture. I used papers and stamps from Simply Elegant suite from a current SU catalogue. This paper has copper and silver embossed design and I used copper embossing powder for the flowers and silver for the sentiment.

And one more picture trying to capture all the shine without a glare.

My flying thing is a butterfly and on this card I used a variety of things. Cardstock and patterned paper are from Simon Says Stamp March kit, butterfly die cut as well as the little metalic butterflies are from Stampin Up and the sentiment is a Tim Holtz sticker that was included in one of last year's SSS kits.

I started to make Christmas cards and I'm planning to give out a bunch as gifts so I needed to speed up the process so I came back to using up the whole paper pack.

Started with 6x6 Echo Park pad called Winter Magic - everything is blue, white and I added silver accents here and there.

These are probably my favorites - using Merries Moments stamp set and dies from Stampin Up, so I made 4 of them with just slight variations

Friends are Like Seashells

I'm still working on Monterey Bay paper pack from PaperPlay and I decided to make some gender neutral cards with the new Friends are like Seashells stamp set from Stampin Up. I love the sentiments from this set and since I didn't want the cards to be too feminine I restrained from sparkly embellishments and only used some clear Nuvo drops.
First one is using the current sketch from The Paper Players

I'm also entering it in Beyond The Blue - Rustic Wood background and
AAA Birthday - Patterned Paper
