SS402 - Airborne

It's Saturday and that means a new sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday. Here is this week's sketch:
and here is my card using our sponsor Kenny K's image called Airborne
I colored the image with  brown tone alcohol markers and inked the tag with distress inks. Sentiment and texture stamps are from Stampin Up. Embossing folder is probably one of Tim Holtz's.

Challenges:
Crafty Gals Corner - All About The Boys
Jade's Sparkling Butterflies - AG or Monochrome
Crafty Ribbons - Monochrome
Cardz 4 Guyz - create your own background

Something for the boys

For me it's much harder to make a boy/man card than a girly one. SO I decided to work on it. Especially for bigger boys - my 7-yo DS doesn't want to gift his friends with "baby-ish" cards - so that means no puppies, Edwins, teddy bears or other cute/sweet images... So when I found this cool stamp set from Kraftin Kimmie called - Smells like teen spirit I rejoiced ;)
and here is the first card I made with it:

the background is made by melting piles of colored embossing powder and then pressing a stamp into the soft EP - inspired by this card by Jessica Witty. I still have a serious lack of simple stamps suitable for boyish cards, so I just used the spots. Just a little reminder - if you want to try this technique - DO NOT try to melt the embossing powder by pointing the heat gun on it from the top. Lift your CS and heat it from the bottom ;)
and a detail of the melted EP part:

I'm entering it into the following challenges:
My time to craft - Men Only
Hiding in my craft room - Embossing
Cards Galore - One for the men
